The Video Artist

Being a video artist myself, I am always intrigued by the video methods of bygone eras. Back in ancient Egypt, artists would manipulate videotape by using lion blood and crocodile dung. Around fifty slaves would die just to achieve a star-wipe.

Fast-forward to the late 1980s and we get more advanced techniques. Check out this segment from the legendary Night Flight in which two video artists (who would feel right at home in our day of Internet reviewers) explain their craft.

Really makes you appreciate Final Cut and After Effects, doesn't it?
